2026 Roadside Cleanup
It was a beautiful morning and six members of DOV showed up on the corner of La Cholla and Overton. Their mission.... to pick up the trash on the sides of the road.A big thanks to Sue Dalton, Michael Mills, Jim Lombardo, Matthew Lemarand, Brian Bickel and Susan Bickel for participating in DOV's twice a year effort to keep Oro Valley clean. Our reward? The beautiful blue and white sign with our name printed for all to see. During our walk we visited and learned a lot about each other. We were happy to wave back to folks going by in their cars when they honked and saluted us with thumbs up. This time was different. There were no trumpers that we saw. Jim was the big winner... Well, anyway, he carried the biggest bag with a big load of cardboard. Susan spied the remains of two glass beer bottles, including Corona and Ultra. The rest of us picked up pieces of litter including $5 million dollars of cigarette butts discarded alongside the road. After we finished, we were treated to Dunkin Donuts. A sweet ending to a fun and productive morning.
